OUR STORY
Dave, Erin and Donna decided to open up The Grooming Shoppe in January of 2021 after Dave made the decision to close down Dave and Jan’s Pets due to the Covid pandemic. All of us really wanted to keep doing what we love for those furry friends that we have become so attatched to. We were lucky enough to find a location in the same plaza we have been in for years.
The Grooming Shoppe strives to provide a friendly, warm, informative and custom experience to all those who visit.

MEET THE GROOMERS
ERIN MABRY
Erin has grown up in the pet industry her whole life. Both her father (Dave) and mother are dog groomers. While she has learned most of her grooming technique from her dad, she has a natural knack which comes from her mother. She began a career as a vet tech in Florida then moved to California in 2012 where she took care of pets for celebrities such as Diane Keaten, Paula Abdul and Estelle Harris (Mrs. Potato Head). In 2015 she moved back to Florida to begin learning grooming from Dave. Erin specializes in hand scissoring, puppy’s first grooming, and terrier grooms. She has a special place in her heart for Doodles of any type since she owns one herself.
DAVE MABRY
Dave has been grooming for the last 38 years. He has been an animal lover since a little boy, bringing home many a lost or abandoned animal. As a teenager he apprenticed under a vet in his hometown of Monroe, La. His love of animals grew even stronger then. At the age of 21 he began his career in grooming. Dave specializes in hand scissoring and the breed standard grooms of Schnauzer, Poodle or Cocker. His favorite grooms though are those of mixed breeds where he is left to his own imagination. Be warned, he may let a dad joke slip out while you are visiting with us.
DONNA LASTNAME
Donna has been grooming for 20 years. She started under Gayle of Gayle’s Pets Plus and then grew her experience when Dave purchased Gayle’s back in 2007. Donna has been working with and learning from Dave ever since. Donna specializes in geriatric or timid dog grooming. She does many dogs that other groomers have turned away in the past. There is not an animal alive that Donna will turn down if she can help it. She has fostered, raised, and given hospice to many types of animals her whole life. She hails from Boone, NC and has many a story to tell you if you have the time to listen.
